It was shame that kept me from sharing my story with anyone until I was in my 30’s. Because of that I also couldn’t start receiving emotional healing until then. It’s a process that’s continuing to this day. Here are some scriptures to help you if you struggle in this area. I’ll be updating this as time goes by. All scriptures are NIV translation.

Isaiah 54:4

Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 

Isaiah 50:7

Because the sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.

Psalm 34:4-7

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalm 22:5

They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
